1. Reviewer comments on research reports are most helpful to authors if the comments constructively request information or clarification of key elements of the research and its findings.

Reviewers are given template questions to help elicit useful comments that are helpful to the authors.

Please consider the template question below and the two reviewer responses to the question.

Template Question (Reviewer Form-Background): Are the study aims and/or research questions meaningful to you or patients with similar health experiences?

A - Patient Reviewer Response: “There are two research questions, one is useful and one is not. ‘Is shared decision- making useful?’ Yes, this is an important question to determine. Shared decision making is very useful, and we should be able to demonstrate why this is. ‘Are joint intake sessions better than individual intake sessions?’ I don't care about this question. In general, clinicians have little impact on overall recovery”

B - Patient Reviewer Response: “Of the two research questions, I found one to be very helpful and aligns with my experience.  It would be beneficial to me if you could expand on why you thought it was important to focus on joint intake sessions versus individual intake sessions. Please provide more information on why intake sessions are an important part of this research.”

When comparing the two reviewer comments to the template question, which of the two reviewer comments above do you consider to be more helpful to the authors?
